Summary
The Process Technician is responsbile for the setup and operation of injection molding machines to ensure the production of high-quality plastic parts. This role, situated within the Production Department, reports directly to the Tool Room Manager and indirectly to the Production Supervisor. The Process Technician plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing activities, ensuring adherence to set standards for each production run to meet customer expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform setup and troubleshooting of injection molding machines, including startup/shutdown procedures and mold setting.
Diagnose and address machinery issues to ensure the production of parts meeting specified quality standards.
Uphold processes to meet or exceed company benchmarks for efficiency and utilization.
Validate process parameters and implement necessary adjustments to enhance cycle times.
Monitor process and workstation data outline in mold setup sheets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
Address and resolve scrap issues promptly.
Collaborate with Quality department to enhance process control measures.
Adhere to all company processes and procedures to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Foster an environment conducive to personal and professional development and exccellence.
Ensure Complaince with all state and federal laws pertaining to workplace safety.
Education and Experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience as a process technician in a plastic injection molding environment.
Experience with both hot runners and insulate runner sytems is preferred.
Proficiency in comprehending process setup instruction and company policies.
Scientific molding experience a plus.
Certification from an injection molding program a plus.
Familiarity with computerized inventory tracking systems (experience with IQMS is advantageous).
Demonstrated strong troubleshooting skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Mechanical aptitutde.
Self-motivated with the ability to work indepedently or in a group setting with minimal supervision.
You should be proficient in:
- Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Machine Setups for Production Runs
- Machine Safety Inspections
- Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
