About the Job
A Procurement and Import Compliance Specialist is needed in Opelika, Alabama.
Coordinate purchasing of materials or supplies necessary for the manufacturing of automotive parts from international vendors. Ensure that products supplied by overseas vendors meet companys engineering and technical requirements. Assure all international transactions are properly documented in compliance with international and U.S. customs rules and regulations,
including classifications, valuation, origin, tariff treatment, and preferential treatment. Solicit bid proposals, analyze price proposals, or create requisitions for supplies, parts, and materials.
Understand and study Free Trade Agreements, tariff classifications, license requirements to reduce the overall corporate international purchasing cost. Ensure all imported products
specification and import quantities meet the regulatory standards. Develop and improve quoting policy and methods that accurately present opportunities, elicit relevant offers, and select
best options based on total cost. Forecast international market activities that will affect corporate margins and recommend actions to senior management based on assessment.
