The Procurement & Scheduling Coordinator takes a proactive approach in sourcing and purchasing raw materials based on current market conditions, sales and customer order history. The Procurement & Scheduling Coordinator makes recommendations for purchasing and implementing vendor additions and subtractions while maintaining cost parameters and delivery specifications. The Procurement & Scheduling Coordinator develops and reviews the production schedule to meet customer needs and maintain finished product inventory levels. Pay: 55-$65K Depending on experience. We are excited to share that our organization values bilingual skills and as such, offers an additional incentive of $10K for candidates who are proficient in Spanish

Schedule: M-F 8am to 5pm in person at the Brunswick location
Typical day in the life as a Procurement and Scheduling Coordinator:
- Ensure food ingredients are purchased at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production and for customers’ needs-by requirements
- Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned with the company’s needs
- Identify and qualify new suppliers
- Agree to terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate (discounts and volume rebates)
- Foster close working relationships with Sales, Production, Shipping and Receiving
- Continually improve purchasing methods to drive down costs
- Visit or assure vendor visits to verify vendor facility cleanliness and operation
- Carry our comprehensive review of procurement function and its methodology (identify and implement improvements)
- Manages inventory to ensure company cost targets are met (includes spend, usage, scrap, inventory levels)
- Involvement with technical and sales departments on the evaluation of new and existing food ingredients and their successful integration into production
- Identify current and future market trends in the global marketplace
- Schedules production work orders and maintains the schedule
- Reviews and maintains inventory levels for finished goods, raw materials and distribution items
- Other duties as assigned
What are we looking for?
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, management, engineering or industrial technology preferred.
- 3-5 years in food ingredient purchasing preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, with the flexibility to learn web technology, SAP and ERP systems and document control systems,
