We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to procure supplies, materials, services, and facilitate funding actions associated with subcontracted efforts.
As a Procurement Specialist:
- Your primary responsibility will be processing credit card orders, purchase requisitions, and subcontract funding actions.
- You will interact with a diverse number of collaborators such as executives, suppliers, vendors, program managers, technical staff, and financial managers to gather vital information.
- You will be responsible for reviewing Letters of Justification (LOJ), Statements of Work (SOW), vendor quotes and other necessary documentation to submit requisitions.
- You will track requisitions through the system and report status to Department staff, as well as collaborate with Laboratory purchasing staff to expedite requests. You will proactively partner with the Lab’s central Procurement Group to expedite requests as necessary.
- You will partner with the Lab's central Procurement Group to provide regular training to REDD’s technical staff on updates to the Lab's policies and best practices.
- You will detail purchase records, perform receiving function on orders, and reconcile credit card invoices on monthly statements.
- You will support special projects relating to procurement, business operations and financial administration as necessary.

- Possess a High School Diploma and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Are highly detail-oriented person with outstanding organizational skills.
- Effectively work in a fast paced/high volume environment.
- Have demonstrated the ability to work on multiple tasks with varying complexity independently with little supervision.
- Have the ability to prioritize tasks, adjust quickly to changing priorities and the ability to accommodate time-critical tasking.
- Are consistently demonstrating independent judgment, interacting and communicating effectively with external vendors, technical staff, internal APL enterprise services, and line leadership.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and outstanding work ethic.
- Are flexible and able to anticipate administrative needs.
- Are proficient in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Are able to obtain a Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
