About the Job
Strong, growing produce company seeking senior salesperson to join their team and help growth their business. Position will coordinate with all depts. to ensure strong customer service and delivery for customers. Customer service, company culture and a team-minded approach are very important to this company. This position can be in south Florida or remote-based if the right import sales experience with established customer base.
Responsibilities
- This role’s focus will be on sales and business development along with working on Customer portfolio, account development and new product and business development
- Negotiate and close FOB, delivered, contract and program sales.
- Prospect and develop new sales that grow volume and returns for commodities sold.
- Be point of contact for customers for product availability, pricing, quality, delivery and the overall market.
- travel, as needed to conventions, shows, and customer locations
- Identify and strategically pursue opportunities based on industry trends
- Understand and analyze the commodities including Daily market quotes, short-term advance pricing and contract pricing
- Sales planning and market forecasting
- Customer forecasting
- Track and analyze customers buying frequencies
- Work closely with the accounting team in managing own accounts receivables
- Works with sales team and trains
Requirements:
- Have an established book of business
- Previous sales and marketing experience for imported or related produce items
- Successful track record of sales in multiple customer segments – Retail and Foodservice
- Good sourcing / trading background with established network could also be a plus
- Working knowledge of fresh market trends, swings and competition
- Great communicator with an emphasis on servicing the customer
- Self-starter, organized, and able to multitask
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required.
- Experience working trade shows an visiting customers.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field is a plus
• 10+ years of sales experience
