Clinical Services Data & Analytics Product Analyst II needs to be a highly motivated individual who enjoys the challenge of advocating for dashboard users with a relentless urgency to deliver value and timely issue resolution to customers. This Product Analyst II is responsible for supporting HCA Healthcare’s clinical analytics dashboard products through continuous monitoring and evaluating product performance and proactively champion product improvements. Product Analyst II will facilitate product planning, helping teams improve products by delivering data-driven insights about dashboard usage, including areas of improvement in the product lifecycle. This role requires a solid understanding of database architecture, business intelligence (BI) tools, analytical and SQL skills to assist with quality assurance (QA) activities and troubleshooting end-user issues. Product Analyst II must love data and be a curious, innovative, and collaborative individual.
Key Competencies and Responsibilities:
65% Product Management
•Dashboard Utilization - Solicit and analyze data on how customers use dashboards and gather customer feedback data to gauge performance; Identify product gaps and leads enhancement efforts
•Enhancement Backlog - Handles intake of enhancement requests, assesses for feasibility, prioritizes based on value and effort, and tracks to delivery; Ensure scope of work is pragmatic and minimal, and solves for a problem that customers value
•Implementations - Works closely with the business to plan for go-live, ensure knowledge transfer and training, and prepare end users for initial activities within the system;
•Written Communication - Prepares formal email communications and other documents to be distributed to wide audiences (e.g. go-live announcements, release notes).
•Collaboration - Builds relationships, communicates, and collaborates with stakeholders of all levels, personalities, and technical expertise (e.g. business leaders, end users, project teams, etc.).
•Presentations – Prepare and present product demonstrations focused on audience needs
•Accountability - Motivated to work independently. Holds self and others accountable as an effective way to build trust and drive progress.
•Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Serves as the SME for dashboard functionality, processes, data sourcing, and troubleshooting
•Customer Service - Acts with empathy to provide the highest level of service and urgency to resolve issues and answer questions for end users and other stakeholders
•Incidents and Requests - Manages incidents as Tier 1 support and resolved to coordinates resolution in a timely manner.
•Change Coordination - Lead a cross-functional team to define solutions for customer problems identified through support or by the product team.
•Documentation - Deliver detailed business and technical product documentation, updates dashboard data guides, product announcements, portal configurations.
•Training - Conducts training sessions and/or ensure relevant training is performed to help ensure high levels of dashboard adoption.
•Quality Assurance - Performs and documents testing of dashboard changes
35% Data & Reporting
•Extract patterns, variability and/or outliers from raw data.
•Data domain knowledge competency for multiple assigned service line areas.
•Interprets and presents results in a clear and meaningful way to executive level audiences.
•Understanding of internal datasets (clinical, financial, operational) and external datasets (CMS, various registries, etc.).
•Validate and troubleshoot discrepancies in data by creating and executing intermediate to advanced SQL queries from multiple databases (Teradata, GCP, SQL, etc.).
•Determines data quality or completeness; Effectively communicates gaps to clinical or ITG stakeholders.
•Develops actionable reports, report narratives and data visualizations that identify areas of opportunity and help drive clinical quality at scale. Primary department platforms are Microsoft Excel and PowerBI.
Education and Experience
•Bachelor's Degree Required.
•2-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
•4-6 years as a statistician or data analyst in a complex environment.
•Experience using market BI tools such as Power BI, Qlikview, and MicroStrategy.
•Intermediate SQL knowledge required; experience analyzing and creating data sets using Teradata SQL or BI tools required.
•Understanding of relational database systems (Teradata, SQL server, etc.).
•Excellent communication skills; ability to present to an executive level audience.
•Knowledgeable about various clinical service lines and data sources.
•Detail-oriented and strong desire to find solutions to problems.
•Ability to self-manage multiple tasks and prioritize work according to team and company goals.
