Summary:
The Product Application Engineer is responsible for defining the strategy for selecting products and patterns based on customer requirements and company systems. This involves thoroughly understanding customer needs and configuring the product to efficiently fulfill those needs. The engineer is also responsible for defining and maintaining the necessary information, structure, and accuracy of the product/pattern.

The Product Application Engineer is responsible for defining the strategy for selecting products and patterns based on customer requirements and company systems. This involves thoroughly understanding customer needs and configuring the product to efficiently fulfill those needs. The engineer is also responsible for defining and maintaining the necessary information, structure, and accuracy of the product/pattern.
Responsibilities and main duties
- Conduct thorough market research to understand specific product requirements of the customers
- Come up with and outline new product configurations and offerings based on both customer needs and company guidelines
- Assist and direct the product design process during the launch of new products
- Establish product characteristics and input details into the company's product information system (product item master)
- Keep track of customer feedback and coordinate any necessary product design changes to enhance product performance and company service
- Create and execute improvements in the product design and development process
- Collaborate with other departments within the organization to enhance product quality, customer service, and satisfaction
- Stay well-informed and compliant with the company's standards and operating procedures
- May require occasional domestic and international travel
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in either mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering or related field
- Knowledge of the Automotive industry and market trends
- Automotive OEM work experience is desired but not required.
- Understanding of product development and product specifications
- Organized and structured thinking
- Methodic and detailed oriented
- Energetic
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with customers, venders and across various company departments, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to collaborate with all levels of technical users and management.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to efficiently work with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
