We have a "great" opportunity available for a Product Category Manager to join our Team. We are asking for some experience but will provide continual training.

The Product Manager, working closely with the Business General Manager, Business Product Portfolio Manager, Product Category Managers, and other members of Business Management, has responsibility for growth and profitability of assigned products.
These products can be within one or multiple product categories.
With the guidance of more senior Product Category Managers, this role has assigned exposure and responsibility within the product life cycle including but not limited to:
Market trend analysis, product portfolio management (product offering gaps, product profitability & competitive response), new product ideation, product market competitive positioning (price & feature), functional feature/application specification, product development guidance, product acceptance to defined requirements, product launch, Sales Channel support, strategic & tactical MarCom execution, Customer Care system oversight, product sustaining & end of life management (EOL).
This role reports to the Business Product Portfolio Manager. You will not have any employees to manage.
Primary objectives:
* Primary Owner of responsibility to assess and drive profitability of assigned products within the Business.
* Product advocate for one or more products & associated testing applications.
* Continual assessment of markets technology and social trends that may impact the company’s test instrument viability within markets, developing and refining product functionality and positioning.
* Understand our organization’s corporate strategic competitive advantages and work to develop products and associated Sales & Marketing strategies that support/compliment these advantages.
* Work with other Product Managers, Industry Segment Directors, MARCOM Segment Managers, and Sales Channel personnel to continually refine the view of the assigned product’s market positioning.
* Integrate research, market studies and market analysis and voice of the customer into product roadmaps and development requirements.
* Create Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) defining product feature, function, price and positioning strategies for success.
* Participate in creation, presentation of business cases for new product developments (PRDs & ADPs).
* Review and evaluate product line profitability and sales performance on a continual basis.
* Meet regularly with Development teams. Participate in realization trade-off decisions, considering Time to Market, Recurring and Non-Recurring Costs, and Product Quality impacts of decisions.
* Work with Sales (Direct, Reps, TSG) to define, coordinate and execute NPI Beta Field Testing.
* Assist our Organization’s Sales Channel personnel in review & response to customer test application tenders.
* Provide product usability and test application support to customers and our Sales Channel personnel.
* Provide product application and positioning training as needed across Organization’s Sales Channels.
* Assist business with reacting/responding to Product Customer Care Cases.
* Mandatory travel: International 5-10%. Domestic 10-20%

Required Experience:
Experience, Skills & Knowledge required to be successful in the role
Technical Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications
* BA/BS graduate with a strong academic record.
* 0 to 5 years of experience in a product management position/role for electronic products. Product management of test instruments products, a differentiator.
* Demonstrated knowledge or aptitude to learn test instruments/applications used in the Electricity Generation and Transmission Industry. Power Transformer, Cable Fault Location and General Test, a differentiator.
* An eye for product design and the end user experience, focused on executing Test Application.
* Strong organizational and analytical skills.
* Ability to learn sales strategy and tactics, in support of developing clear tactics to drive product sales success.
* Familiarity and interest in social media, and technologies that shape our lives.
* Developing proficiency in Power Point, Excel, and Word.
* Attention to detail mentality and understanding of importance of project budgets and meeting deadlines.
* Strong Communication Skills, willingness to drive project executions involving cross-functional teams.
* Ability to work with worldwide development teams, customers, technical & professional societies, sales, distributors, marketing communications, and technical support group personnel
