About this Position:
Cross-function leader will bridge the gap between divisions and departments to ensure:
- New model quality targets for functional control systems are achieved.
- Lead E-side development activity for introducing new functional technology to HDMA.
- Market issues and customer expectations are addressed in new model design.
Responsibilities include:
- Direct and lead activity to understand root cause of new model functional issues during trial stage through new model launch
- Establish and direct cross-functional team across departments and divisions to understand new model build struggles with CBU control functions.
- Establish and direct activity to bin functional concerns from each trial event that may impact mass production quality.
- Establish and develop report card for each build event to understand, report, and feedback root cause of each functional concern.
- Apply technical expertise to impact and direct technical decisions for new model and mass production functional concerns.
- Establish and direct strong technical communication between applicable departments before, during, and after new model trial events.
- Establish and direct activity to quickly apply temporary countermeasures to functional new model concerns.
- Direct activity and foster communication to expedite application of permanent countermeasures across Departments and Divisions
- Apply technical expertise to impact and direct technical decisions for new model and mass production functional concerns.
- Direct the identification of gaps in associate technical knowledge and capability of integrated vehicle controls and manufacturing controls development.
- Establish and direct technical development of LET associates.
- Establish and direct technical development of PED functional teams.
- Direct the identification and bridge gaps in technical expertise between departments and divisions for Integrated Control Systems
- Identify, promote, and rectify manufacturing and design issues that impact juhin, warranty, and customer expectation for innovative technology applications.
- Direct study of functional market issues, as it pertains to Integrated Control Systems, to understand opportunity for design improvement.
- Direct the communication of new technology during new model development between Manufacturing, Vehicle Quality, and Product Engineering
- Establish and direct communication and training of Market Quality associates in analysis techniques and tools to investigate potential market concerns.
- Effectively direct innovative technology application projects of high complexity and broad scope for HAM and the North American Region.
- Establish and direct new technology theme teams for platform development across the North American region.
- Establish and direct communication flow for innovative technology themes with R&D facilities.
Who we are seeking:
Required Work Experience:
- 15-20 Years of relevant Mechanical/Electrical controls engineering experience, based on amount of education (experience with all automobile design theory, function, manufacturing method/equipment and past problems)
- 20+ Years of "Q" analysis or NM experience
- Meets or exceeds requirement for Exempt Level 5
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Quality, Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent related experience
Desired skills:
- Knowledge of Honda New Model Sales, Engineering, and Design/Development flow, how to mature a car
- Car and job process expertise – expert knowledge of automobile design theory, function, manufacturing method/equipment and past problems
- Knowledge of interdepartmental operations, who does what at Honda
- Strong Technical analysis and trouble shooting skills
- Self-managed and able to provide and support others to be successful
- Ability to: present to varying audiences (including but not limited to DM, Plant Mgr., COC, etc.), conduct meetings, multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and tasks, work in a team environment as well as independently, possesses interpersonal skills and understanding of the new model process from drawing release to Mass Production
