The Product Delivery Management Office (PDMO) works closely with engineering, product and data groups to build empowered, autonomous and multi-disciplinary teams delivering the right product, in the right way, as quickly and efficiently as possible.
As a Product Delivery Manager in the PDMO you will join a dynamic team responsible for guiding the development of product visions and strategies, building cultures of collaboration and driving the execution of business critical strategic initiatives. In this capacity, you will be aligned to an engineering organization and have the opportunity to guide leaders and teams while establishing structure and processes while building relationships. You will collaborate with Product Managers, development teams, and business partners to drive initiatives that enable internal and external clients to use Bloomberg products and various applications built on top of the core infrastructure.
Our engineering groups are responsible for delivering and supporting critical software infrastructure and core services extensively used by our internal and external users and customers. We are looking for a thought leader, an enthusiastic problem solver and an experienced initiative manager to join us and help deliver these efforts!
FID: Financial instruments across several asset classes (Fixed income and Derivatives) trade millions of times a day both as listed products on exchanges and as bespoke over-the-counter products. The Fixed Income and Derivatives Engineering organization brings transparency to this multi-trillion dollar market. The systems they build empower our clients to generate trade ideas, structure deals, connect to electronic trading platforms, capture market movements, and assess and hedge portfolio risk for derivatives instruments.
AI: Bloomberg’s Engineering AI department has 300+ AI practitioners building highly sought after products and features that often require novel innovations. We are investing in AI to build better search, discovery, and workflow solutions using technologies such as transformers, gradient boosted decision trees, large language models, and dense vector databases.
This position is a hybrid role with 3 days per week in our New York City office and 2 days per week remote.
We will trust you to:
+ Guide and advise leadership in defining, communicating and amplifying product vision, goals and strategic themes
+ Understand,evaluate and govern value streams
+ Partner with Engineering and Product to help develop and track product roadmaps
+ Manage complex, cross-functional initiatives throughout the product development lifecycle from inception through launch
+ Set the right expectations with stakeholders, see around corners, anticipate and mitigate risks
+ Excel in managing initiatives but also keep an eye on the big picture and not be afraid to upend existing systems and processes if need be
+ Assess, adapt and introspect right-fit delivery framework (methodologies, tools and techniques) most appropriate to help the team achieve their goal as efficiently as possible
+ Improve team's performance by helping them to continuously reflect and improve, encouraging team cohesiveness through leadership and mentoring to facilitate successful delivery
+ Be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring good judgment and flexibility
You will need to have:
+ 4+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product delivery or a relevant domain area
+ 4+ years of hands-on experience working with lean approaches and agile development practices
+ 4+ years direct work experience in large scale program management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution, experience with client journeys, and demonstrated ability to synthesize process data
+ Proven understanding of the product life cycle
+ Experience working and leading in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team within an interactive process
+ Foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure, architecture
+ Foundational knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and software development methodologies
+ High motivated, self-directed individual with the ability to work independently
+ Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
+ Results-oriented attitude and ability to follow through on tasks in a timely and responsible manner
+ Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
+ Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision making, interpersonal and communication skills
+ BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technology field
We'd love to see:
+ An understanding in the finance and data domain
+ An understanding of large scale software or system infrastructure
+ An understanding of some key technologies behind AI (ML, LLM, time-series, etc)
+ Certified Scrum Master or Certified Scrum Professional (CSM or CSP)
+ Experience in leading or being part of Agile transformation in an organization that previously followed traditional/waterfall software development processes
+ Experience using JIRA for planning and tracking
+ PMP, SAFe Certification
