About the Job
As the Product Designer II for On-Call, you will work on our On-Call experience designed for engineers and technical teams on Datadog’s platform
You will be responsible for designing intuitive, user-centered experiences that help teams manage their on-call rotations, incident notifications, and escalationsDatadog On-Call brings monitoring, paging, and incident response into a single, seamless experience
It helps teams quickly assess alerts by displaying critical context—relevant observability data paired with key service and ownership information
By streamlining workflows and reducing the mental load during high-pressure situations, the tool enhances both speed and effectiveness in incident response
This empowers teams to stay in control, minimize downtime, and maintain system reliability with confidence
You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and other designers to shape how our users interact with on-call schedules and incident resolution tools.We’re looking for a designer who is excited about designing connective experiences for developers and collaborating with other designers on the incident response experience
You’ll work on the Service Management Design team who is responsible for designing experiences across our customer’s alerting, triaging, escalating, responding, and resolving workflows
With a team of designers you’ll collaborate on this cross-product journey so Datadog’s customers have a seamless incident response experience. At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table
We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.What You’ll Do:Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and design to understand how our customers use Datadog and what they need to succeed. Act as an end-to-end product designer who can sketch, prototype, test, and see your product through to production.Bring your designs to life with intuitive interaction design leveraging your strong prototyping skills in tools such as Figma, Framer, Protopie, etc. Utilize research methodologies and design best practices to identify opportunities to improve the On-Call experience across web and mobile. Communicate your design work and the support for your design decisions internally to your product team and the whole company. Work closely with engineering teams to understand how your designs will be built and Q/A them before we ship. Who You Are:You have 4+ years of experience in digital product design.Your portfolio includes projects that highlight your ability to own end-to-end projects and your robust interaction design skills. You are an excellent visual and written communicator who is able to clearly communicate your design work and justify your design decisions.You have experience with advanced modern-day UX/UI tools (e.g
Figma). You understand systems thinking and component-based design patterns.You give and receive feedback well, supporting and improving the work of your colleagues as well as your ownBonus Points:You have experience in a SaaS or B2B startup and thrive in a fast-paced environment.Datadog values people from all walks of life
