About the Job
As an Experienced Development Chemist, you will work in the laboratory as a member of automotive refinish technical team at Delaware, OH. You will support Refinish coatings R&D and contribute to the development of new products focusing on color coat development. You will work in the formulations laboratory from senior chemist. Activities include paint formulation, spray application and physical and chemical property testing of standard and experimental color coatings. You will contribute to experimental design and planning with responsibility for conducting formulation experiments and communicating results to technical leadership and marketing organizations.

Key Responsibilities

Follow experimental procedures and produce reliable data promptly
Provide independent thoughts, contribute (or lead) design of experiments
Perform project tasks from a senior chemist
Demonstrate use of scientific method for experimentation, observations
Provide recommendations that advances project goals
Build productive business relationships with suppliers, marketing/ sales, customers and within the broader PPG Technical community.
Follow corporate policies and government regulations by compliance with established standards on business conduct, environmental issues, EEO.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Proficient in statistical tools for design of experiment
3+ years coating experience.
Experience with coating application techniques.
