The Product Development Packaging Specialist at Danessa Myricks Beauty is responsible for designing, testing, and implementing packaging solutions for new and existing products. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and project management skills to ensure packaging meets all functional, cost, and aesthetic requirements while aligning with company standards and sustainability goals.
- Analyze product requirements and develop innovative packaging designs using various materials like plastic, paper, glass, and metal.
- Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate the suitability of packaging concepts, materials, and machinery for specific products.
- Create packaging prototypes and perform testing to assess performance, durability, environmental impact, and compliance with regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, marketing) to ensure packaging meets product needs and consumer expectations.
- Identify opportunities to optimize packaging processes, reduce costs, and improve sustainability.
- Stay updated with packaging trends, technologies (e.g., CAD software, 3D printing), and best practices.
- Oversee packaging trials, stability, compatibility, shipping, and any other testing, and successful commercialization of new packaging solutions.
- Ensure packaging designs comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Create innovative packaging designs for new products and improve existing packaging.
- Utilize CAD software and other design tools to develop packaging prototypes.
- Collaborate with product designers and engineers to ensure packaging meets product specifications.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain.
- Address and resolve packaging-related issues during production and distribution
- Identify and liaise with packaging suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and quality standards.
- Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in eco-friendly packaging materials
- Maintain detailed records of packaging designs, specifications, and test results.
- Prepare and present reports on packaging performance and project progress to stakeholders.
