Job Summary:
The Product Engineer position provides an extraordinary opportunity to support our Product Management team and grow one's career in the Data Center domain. You will support, set up test and validate our flagship system management software products on DC Servers, GPU Servers, Switches, Storage, PDU's and CDU's. This role will also configure, deploy, troubleshoot, validate infrastructure performance, platform availability and application solutions. This position offers immense opportunities for future career growth and will be in San Jose, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
- Set up server, networking, storage HW/FW in the Lab for management software validation and Proof of Concept Deployments.
- Able to troubleshoot technical issues pertaining to DC Infrastructure Management.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn and passion to promote Supermicro's System Management Products such as BMC, SSM, SUM, SCC etc.
- Conduct functional and compatibility testing on various operating systems such as Linux, Unix, and Windows.
- Debug hardware/software problem caused by hardware or firmware or Operating System.
- Assist demo preparation, functional validation, and documentation.
- Establish pre-pilot-run environment and use it to review the product before pilot run.
- Assist automation with Basic Shell Scripting / Python / Ansible.
- Handle Software License Key Management responsibilities pertaining to the team.
Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
- 2+ years of experience as a Lab Administrator with Linux administration skills and proven troubleshooting and optimization skills preferred.
- Excellent automation/scripting skills: Bash, Python.
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix test environments.
- Familiar with TCP/IP protocol stack, UDP, IPv4-IPv6, DNS, DHCP.
- Familiarity with system performance analysis and debugging tools.
- Experience setting up lab environments for proof of concept, customer demo environments; perform server, networking, and storage configuration.
- Working independently under aggressive timelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Networking Certification such as CCNA.
- Working Knowledge of Ansible.
- Familiarity with either one or more of Cisco Intersight / Dell OME / HP OneView.
- Knowledge of Nvidia GPU / Intel / AMD Processor Families.
- Knowledge of REST API interfaces.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes / OpenShift / OpenStack.
Please note that this position requires regular in-office attendance. The successful candidate is expected to be present in the office during standard working hours as determined by the company. In-office collaboration and participation in team meetings, training sessions, and other on-site activities are essential aspects of this role. Candidates should consider the commuting distance and be prepared to fulfill their responsibilities in the designated office location.
Salary Range
$82,000 - $133,000
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
