About the Job
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the product life cycle including development of product availability, sales and marketing, prior to being made available for distribution.
Manages roadmap for product line(s) to include all aspects of coordination, project management, communication and marketing; ensures appropriate presentation, specifications, competitive positioning and any other related product documentation to support the sale of the product. This position currently oversees the day-to-day needs all business needs as it pertains to product management.
Optimize Investments in Product Development:
- Define clear business plans integrating Company core competencies, time to market, product costs, channels and competition.
- Ensures business inputs are complete and representative.
- Coordinate development priorities to meet both long and short-term revenue objectives.
- Prioritize and balance investment in sustaining engineering, development and strategic investment.
- Airframe evaluations
Communication Skills:
- Clearly articulate product roadmaps and plans to senior management and strategic accounts.
- Communicate highly technical features and functionality to less technical business and financial decision makers.
Product Strategy and Definition:
- Understand and interpret market requirements through Product Marketing, Strategic Partners and Customers.
- Integrate competitive, business and resource considerations to develop product plans that lead in the market place.
- Prioritize feature and product requests while considering development impacts.
- Gain buy-in between engineering, product marketing, sales and management.
- Understand and interpret real-world deployment and troubleshooting requirements.
- Manage without Authority
- Driving engineering resources.
- Delegate and monitor engineering and operational activities.
- Convince and excite resources about product vision and goals market requirements.
- Pricing – market research utilizing ILS, One Aero, Business Contacts
- Reanalyzing prices over six months old.
- Identify units to be sent out for repair.
- Review prior days sales to identify parts to send out for repair.
- Review repair days sales to identify parts to send out again.
- Setting interchangeabilities by utilizing IPC’s and available sites.
Required Experience:
Proven track record of managing aviation products through the complete life cycle. Successfully deliver profitable products and solutions to market that meet current or future market requirements, exceed ROI objectives and are introduced in timely fashion. Direct experience-managing resources, forecasting marketability, determining demand and overcome sales barriers.
Minimum Qualifications:Minimum of 5+ years experience in Aviation Engine product development and network management preferably in the aviation industry; thorough understanding of product line management processes and procedures, strong technical, financial and business skills; demonstrated ability to work across cross-cultural, cross-geography and multi-disciplinary teams.
Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Marketing.
