The Product Manager drives development and execution of product strategy for our Corporate and Commerce Products. The position requires day-to-day interaction with product and business management, including defining market requirements, product requirement documents and packaging the features into product releases. The Product Manager works closely with key customers, product architects and development, marketing, sales, and support to develop and manage new product releases and upgrades to customers.
The Product Manager is responsible for driving and managing product releases based on the needs of customers and the business. This includes providing guidance on product dependencies, validating the entire solution impacted, prioritizing needs, and making tradeoff decisions that impact releases. The Product Manager is responsible for assisting with scope definition of present and future products.
The Product Manager represents the voice-of-the-customer (internal and external) and exhibits an understanding of the market. This position requires the ability to strategically plan and execute on many levels, from finding solutions to strategic challenges to managing tactical details.
As a Product Manager you will:
- Serve as primary product expert
- Lead product design, development, and release process for assigned products and maintain the product development road map
- Coordinate the collection, description, analysis, and prioritization of requests for new product functionality from customers and prospects
- Research, document, and drive changes to products including new features, minor enhancements, and defects
- Create detailed use cases, business requirements, and marketing requirements
- Assist with planning, creation, and delivery of new value via new products and services into current and new markets, as well as new and streamlined business processes.
- Manage and review enhancement requests, issues, and customer feedback to identify and prioritize development efforts.
- Identify and monitor competitive offerings and provide analysis of their positioning, strengths, and weaknesses.
- Analyze potential partner relationships for our products to further extend our capabilities
- Drive voice-of-customer research to identify new products and continually feed product pipeline, including soliciting customers, sales, professional services, and other team members for feedback
- Review customer research, expert opinions, and findings of industry data, and provide recommendations based on research.
- Work with cross-functional teams to help develop and implement a go-to-market plan
- Manage organizational readiness for product launches and ongoing maintenance (across support, deployment, technology, marketing, sales, etc.)
- Assist the marketing communications team in developing marketing programs, product positioning and communication points for all relevant products
- Support product release activities including release planning, product training, demonstrations, and customer presentations
- Manage the launch of software products (UAT, beta and alpha phases) or services in a product management or equivalent role
- Create financial models that support decisions and provide mechanisms to monitor overall return on investment and success of product within the markets to ensure projects drive business and achieve financial objectives
- Implement product changes that further streamline the delivery and sales process
- Maintain a backlog of product issues and enhancements for the products owned
- Support development (both on-shore and off-shore teams) and sales on escalated opportunities or issues when needed
- Document answers to customer technical questions that cannot be answered by sales staff or product support specialists using existing documentation.
Requirements for success:
- 3+ years of experience managing the development and launch of software products or services in a product management or equivalent role
- Proven ability to develop working relationships at multiple levels of an organization
- Demonstrated experience in gathering product requirements to support a product vision
- Experience in managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences, IT, or related field required.
