(Osteal) is a late clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing a novel pipeline of combination product therapeutics for musculoskeletal infections and their consequences. Our lead investigational candidate, VT-X7 was granted Breakthrough Therapy, Orphan Disease, FastTrack and Qualified Infectious Disease Product designations by the US Food and Drug Administration and is rapidly completing its clinical trial program for the treatment of Periprosthetic Joint Infection (PJI) with launch expected in 2025. A robust pipeline of additional indications and therapeutic candidates will lead to rapid and sustained growth for the foreseeable future.

Position Summary:
Osteal is looking for an exceptional Product Manager to champion product definition refinement, launch preparation and execution of its lead therapy for treating periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) of the hip and knee. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the Product Manager will be a key member of a team focused on introducing a drug/device system with the potential to dramatically change the standard of care and its associated outcomes. This is an opportunity for an orthopedics marketer with experience executing launch activities to fully demonstrate their marketing, strategic, and team-building skills. The successful candidate will be joining a growing organization of smart creative individuals focused on transforming the lives of patients living with orthopedic infections.
Essential Responsibilities:
Essential functions of the position include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Product Management of Company's Lead Therapy
- Become a subject matter authority in periprosthetic joint infections, treatment options and associated outcomes.
- Work closely with Clinical, Regulatory/Quality, Engineering, Market Access and Sales to partner in development and execution of the product launch plan.
- Collaborate with Market Development to develop and execute strategies for product positioning & branding, creation of core marketing materials, market education campaigns and national launch to ensure success of early adopters and drive national demand.
- Represent the marketing function in commercialization planning for development of product through stage gate process including development of product positioning, claims, messaging, branding, and launch.
- Develop close relationships with key opinion leaders to enable disease state education and peer to peer product awareness campaign.
- Drive refinement of the product feature set prior to launch in order to maximize safety, efficacy and customer satisfaction.
- Drive post-launch efforts to ensure products are well-positioned and adopted in the market to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Become the subject matter expert on Osteal Therapeutics products for colleagues and customers.
- Partner with Customer Excellence team to define training requirements and develop sales tools, training material, and presentations to support Sales Team in effectively communicating and delivering product value proposition.
- Serve as the voice of the patient, clinician and sales representative in assisting the Engineering team with translating user needs into design requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering to support design verification and validation and subsequent product refinements following testing.
- Monitor market trends, collect user feedback, and collect competitive intelligence to maintain rapid adoption through product line enhancements and generation of additional clinical/economic evidence.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Education
- Minimum Bachelor's degree required in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years related experience in medical device related marketing roles; total joint arthroplasty experience preferred
- Demonstrated product launch and/or sustaining product management experience required
- Ability to collect stakeholder requirements and manage tradeoffs
- Ability to generate market/product insights from a diverse set of inputs
- Ability to lead and contribute to interdisciplinary teams with demonstrated results
- Ability to execute projects within timeline and budget
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with sales teams, physicians, and hospital administrators
- Deep understanding of relevant anatomy, pathology, surgical procedures, and clinical needs
- Thorough knowledge of surgeon and sales education process
- Understanding of FDA quality system regulations with a focus on design controls
- Hands-on, driven work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit
- Expert in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Requirements:
Willing to travel up to 25%
Located in Dallas, TX area or willing to relocate
Hybrid office schedule, minimum 3 days per week in person
