A leading crop protection company seeks a strategic marketing manager who have full product cycle responsibility and direct interaction with every facet of the business. This key role will act as a “business owner,” managing all aspects of the assigned product portfolio and function as brand leader for the advancement of all assigned products.
Position based in Raleigh, NC or Delaware. Potential hybrid options may be considered.
Essential Functions
- Write formal strategic marketing plans; execute and manage tactical implementation.
- This key role manages all aspects of the assigned product portfolio and functions as brand leader for the advancement of all assigned products.
- Develops and executes comprehensive short and long range product/brand marketing positioning and programs, including revenue forecasting to support the sales and revenue objectives of organization.
- Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technical, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.
- Develops and manages product/brand marketing operating budgets.
- Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
- Evaluates and recommends distribution channel and end-user product programs.
- Works with agencies and suppliers of record and provide input for negotiating contract terms and conditions for major services.
- Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
- Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
- Ensures effective control of marketing results and take corrective action to guarantee achievement of marketing objectives fall within designated budgets.
- Oversees and evaluates market research data and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Monitors competitive products positioning, pricing and marketing activities.
- Incorporates target segmentation of end-user information in brand strategy and tactics.
- Oversees and coordinates production and production planning to facilitate adequate product supplies and availability to customers.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key community and strategic partners.
- Resolves conflicts and facilitates changes in the structure of the marketing group to ensure objectives are met and respond swiftly to marketing plan changes and new opportunities.
- Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts, and provide feedback for future product development.
- Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
- Interacts with Field Sales, Vice President of Product Development, and the Director of Regulatory Affairs to provide input and direction for product development and registration.
- Acts as a change agent and strategic thinker for innovation for product advancement and portfolio expansion.
- Anticipates changes in the marketplace and use forethought and insight to adjust product and portfolio direction.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year accredited college or university; or five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Agribusiness degree and or experience
- B.A or B.S plus Master’s Degree (M.S.)
