About the Job
Who We Are [Quality and Recovery]
Wayfair believes everyone deserves a home they love, and that furnishing your home should be a source of fun, not anxiety. Our product team plays a crucial role in making this vision a reality for millions of people around the world. Partnering with engineering, UX design, analytics, and business partners across Wayfair, our product team ensures that we’re building technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, measurable ways. We have a modern tech stack including sophisticated capabilities around AI, data science, multivariate testing, and personalization. We’re a highly collaborative, supportive team that values learning, psychological safety, and intentional career development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for easy-to-use, relevant, and insightful experience in those user modules enabling the Wayfair associate to identify quality issues, assess any product for quality standards, and properly assign condition information to Live orders, Returns, or On Hand Inventory. Efficient operations will enhance the quality of the customer experience with Wayfair by reducing any exposure to damages, defects, or other customer-facing negative experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Develop a deep understanding of the metrics used to measure the customer experience related to damages, defects, and returns, and how those relate to our fulfillment and transportation operations.
- Work to develop best in class tooling to standardize assessment of products that range from ornaments to outdoor sets.
- Partner across multiple operations to understand nuances in different stages of the supply chain, from our factory partners to our delivery drivers.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand their businesses and co-develop impactful solutions that drive key business value.
- Use Agile processes to collaborate with partnering teams (engineers, experience designers, analytics) to execute the roadmap.
- Communicate and promote the product vision and progress throughout Wayfair including senior partners.
- Develop and monitor OKRs for key product initiatives and ensure alignment with stakeholder objectives.
- Work with management to improve product craft and processes throughout your workgroup.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- 4 + years building products or infrastructure at scale from concept to launch and beyond.
- The ability to focus on customer problems and solutions
- To have demonstrated success in creating products that drive business impact.
- Sufficient industry literacy to participate in making key choices as well as effectively communicate with technical partners such as engineering.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at the senior partner level.
- Positive, people-oriented, and collaborative attitude.
- A mentality that pushes through issues with creative solutions and tenacity, while maintaining a grace-under-pressure demeanor.
