Product Manager - Residential Roofing - HELM Solutions, LLC

HELM Solutions, LLC is an executive search and recruiting firm that guides top-performing individuals in their search for an opportunity with an outstanding organization that fully recognizes, values and rewards them in direct proportion to their contributions.  Our client, a commercial and residential roofing and waterproofing manufacturer is in need of a Product Manager for their residential underlayment product line.

This position summary outlines a comprehensive role in product development and lifecycle management, primarily for Roofing Underlayments, with a focus on membrane systems. The role involves a balance of leadership, cross-functional teamwork, and technical expertise in product lifecycle management and marketing. The focus on roofing underlayments and related technologies makes industry-specific experience particularly valuable.  

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development: Lead new product initiatives and updates for the U.S. market, as well as oversee export product developments for Canada and the Caribbean.
- Market Research & Strategy: Identify product needs based on market trends and handle the development process using the Stage-Gate methodology.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate across departments and with Sales to manage strategic projects and initiatives aimed at growth.
- Marketing & Promotion: Develop guidelines for customer-targeted promotional materials and approve marketing strategies.
- Reporting & Communication: Present data to industry groups like SPRI & ARMA and internally; manage product presentations for trade shows and leadership.
- Private Label Initiatives: Support development initiatives in private-label and co-branded Roofing Underlayment technologies.

Required Skills

Requirements:
- Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree and at least 5+ years in the roofing/building products industry.
- Project Management: Proven experience in leading projects and managing cross-functional teams.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Stage-Gate project methodology.
- Location & Travel: The role is based in Deerfield Beach, FL, and relocation assistance is offered. The candidate should be willing to travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry-specific Experience: Direct experience with Roofing Underlayments.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with enterprise systems like SharePoint, Teams, Power BI, etc.
- Educational Advantage: An MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
