What are we looking for?
Intertek Alchemy is looking for a highly motivated Product Owner / Business Systems Analyst to take responsibility for creating and communicating development plans consistent with Alchemy's business requirements and long-term objectives. The Product Owner is a highly collaborative role working with Product Management, Architecture, and development teams to break down marketing requirements into development plans, and review features and enhancements to make sure they are consistent with the plans. The Product Owner also represents the customer when working with the technical teams and is a key role in Agile Development.
As the Product Owner you will be part of the Product Management team at Alchemy, Austin. You will have responsibility for the product components Player, Creator, Coach, and Playbook. You will also help sales and account management in understanding new features and with questions from the field.
How you will make an impact at Intertek Alchemy:
- Transform marketing requirements into lower-level development requirements and acceptance criteria by adding more detail, use cases, scenarios, etc.
- Review development requirements with Product Management, business stakeholders, architects, development teams, and periodically with customers. Adjust and continue to refine the requirements until they are ready to be consumed by the development teams.
- Continually review what the development teams produce to make sure that it is consistent with requirements and ultimately what customers and the market need.
- Be a key participant and leader in Agile activities including Release Planning, Grooming, Sprint Demos and occasionally Scrum Meetings.
- Support the Alchemy business teams with answers to questions and updates/training for product releases.
- Stay in tune with market and customer needs with frequent communication with Product Managers, Alchemy business teams, customers and prospects.
- Support Product Managers in creating and maintaining marketing requirements.
What it takes for you to be successful in this role?
- Post-secondary degree in related field
- Must be able to communicate complex concepts in writing and in spoken words, and be able to balance the competing needs of stakeholders, budgets, and resource constraints
- Knowledge of contemporary software development methodologies and processes especially "agile" and "Scrum"
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to effectively interact with peers and managers
- Strong organizational skills, excellent communication and self-motivation skills
- Understanding of the food production and general manufacturing markets
- Thoroughly enjoy working with customers, business teams and technical teams to create impactful and transformative solutions.
- This position requires some travel within the United States and perhaps internationally (5% - 10%)
- Certified Scrum Product Owner and experience working with agile software development team
