In this position, you will have responsibility for Watch products throughout the program lifecycle, with the goal of identifying and driving improvements to product quality
This position partners with Engineering, Product Design, Operations, AppleCare, and component teams
This is a key role to support ongoing quality improvement for an exciting product
Strong technical, presentation, and organizational skills are essential.
-Support entire program development cycle, from design concept through program end of life
-Work with commodity managers and supplier quality engineers to ensure component quality and reliability; make recommendations to improve design/test
-Own product quality strategy and execution across incoming quality, in-line quality, outgoing quality, and ongoing reliability testing
-Develop and implement new technologies to enhance quality, capacity, and efficiency
-Spearhead innovative new ways to identify and resolve customer-facing issues
-Develop and advocate for new, innovative metrics for measuring performance
-Establish new methods for monitoring and reporting factory health and status, including -Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), and Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT)
-Lead data-driven approaches to failure analysis on Watches
-Implement best practices and learnings across manufacturing sites
-Strategically prioritize top-issue investigations and corrective actions
-Succinctly communicate technical updates to the executive team
Minimum Qualifications3+ years of technical experience in high-volume consumer electronics and data analyticsBachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field of science; graduate degree a plusPreferred QualificationsGood understanding of electronic assembly processesProficient in data analysis techniques, such as data manipulation, statistical analysis, regression, classical machine learning algorithms (e.g., decision trees, SVMs), neural network architectures (e.g., CNNs, RNNs), deep learning frameworks, and visualization (e.g., Tableau); experience with PythonExperience partnering with contract manufacturers in high-volume production; experience traveling to manufacturing sitesAbility to travel internationally about 15%Superior communications skillsExceptional ability to build relationships; clear, consistent communication; data-driven and results-oriented; enthusiastic and motivatedWorks well with a team
Able to build relationships and lead by influence; this role requires advocating for change with a variety of teams across AppleObsessively inquisitive; seeks to pursue everyday problems in innovative waysLaser-focused on the smallest details and able to use data forensics to solve complex manufacturing assembly quality issuesPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role
The base pay range for this role is between $122,300 and $184,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs
Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan
