Job Description:
- The Product Sales Manager (PSM) is principally responsible for the sale of products and to provide innovative engineering solutions to customer work requirements on machine tools.
- The position reports to the Managing Director on the development of prospective accounts and retention of current customers.
Essential Job Functions:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Developing and supporting customer relationships and sales opportunities.
- Promoting the sale of products and providing technical sales support.
- Liaison with Area Sales Managers and Application Teams to assess customer requirements.
- Responsible for achieving forecasted sales targets for respective technologies.
- Frequent communication with the overseas manufacturing factories to discuss specific technical requirements and suggestions for developments.
- Visiting customer facilities to ensure the correct technical solution has been proposed.
- Overseas visits to OEM factories.
- Supporting the Engineering teams with demonstrations.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited university.
- Recognized certification in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10 years+ professional experience in the Machine Tool industry.
- Strong sales and technical understanding with a proven track record for new business wins, account retention, development and growth.
- Project Management experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Extensive experience of working with machines, Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain and Mitsubishi control systems.
- Excellent written and verbal reporting, documentation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Proven positive performer with interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Communication and interaction with Senior Management and key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Sound Engineering background.
- Commercial/Sales awareness and understanding of the Sales process.
- Extensive experience in CAD/CAM software packages.
