Position Summary
The individual in this position will serve on a cross-functional marketing team dedicated to driving outcomes with Customer and internal audiences. As marketing owner, individual responsibilities will include building relationships with stakeholders, business partners and marketing teams, and prioritizing and aligning work.

Supports Marketing's ability to deliver on brand, on budget and on time by leveraging technology, processes, vendors, and insights to support Marketing outcomes. In support of Marketing leadership, this role contributes to strategic planning and execution with a focus on Customer and internal audiences. Responsible for articulating the strategic why of the team's work, maintaining alignment with others in Marketing, leaders and stakeholders and helping the team deliver value that achieves stakeholders' desired outcomes. Will define and prioritize strategic direction and lead development of the team's work. The Marketing Lead (Marketing Owner) must be able to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities and projects.
Serves as a strategic business partner to an assigned business area, responsible for the marketing strategy and plans in support of business objectives. Leads cross-functional teams comprising marketing, data, product, sales and other partners to create and deliver effective marketing materials, campaigns and support to drive sales and engagement through independent ERIE agencies. Responsible for understanding current and emerging marketing channels and practices, stakeholder and audience needs and effective project execution to ensure successful product/service presentation to the field, Agents and consumers/Customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads development and execution of marketing strategy and plans for highly complex projects, including budget, cross-functional resources, tasks, deliverables, resources, assignments, dependents and metrics.
- Analyzes market opportunity and agency/consumers needs to identify and develop solutions and create opportunity for revenue growth/increased retention across the footprint and in targeted territories.
- Maintains strong relationships with senior leaders, business partners and other stakeholders, aligning priorities and expectations related to business objectives, marketing strategy and plans and deliverables. Links measurable outcomes ensuring resource and strategic alignment across business areas and marketing resources.
- Maintains strong understanding of marketing strategy across product and service portfolios to ensure resource and strategic alignment across portfolios and timely execution of deliverables.
- Works across cross-functional teams (spanning Marketing, Data, Sales, Actuarial and IT) and vendors to schedule, prioritize and delegate tasks and responsibilities. Monitors and communicates progress, revises plans and escalates issues as necessary.
- Creates, defines and tracks metrics to measure progress of marketing campaigns in support of business objectives; reports on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, materials and resources; makes recommendations, adjustments and decisions based on learnings.
- Manages the development of positioning and messaging that differentiates new and enhanced products and services from others in the market; works with Content, Creative Services and others to concept and create marketing materials.

- Regularly develops and facilities presentations and training for key stakeholders, including field sales managers and Agents. Serves on panel discussions, alongside senior leaders, for audiences including New Agent Orientation.
- Serves as subject matter expert with a strong understanding of features and benefits and position in market; serving as a resource to assigned business area, Marketing, Sales, field sales teams, etc.
- Analyzes market, consumer and competitive trends, working with cross-functional stakeholders and self-led research, to identify opportunities/address challenges and drive marketing strategies and plans.
- Mentors and helps grow the skills of marketing team members and other members serving on cross-functional teams.
- Actively matures product/service marketing to support business objectives and align with market and industry trends and practices.

Qualifications
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, organizational leadership or business and eight years' experience in marketing, communications or related field, including at least six years leading projects, required; or
- Associates degree in marketing, communications, organizational leadership or business and ten years' experience in marketing, communications or related field, including at least eight years leading projects, required; or
- High School Diploma and twelve years' experience marketing, communications, organizational leadership or business and seven years' experience in marketing, communications or related field, including at least ten years leading projects, required.
Additional Experience
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, collaboration, and presentation software required.
- Thorough understanding of and experience in developing, executing and evaluating marketing strategy and planning and managing projects required.
- In-depth knowledge of marketing concepts and processes, current research and trends, and communication/change management.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve goals, required.
