Ergon Inc. in Flowood, MS currently has an opening for a Product Stewardship Specialist I in the Product Stewardship Department.

The Product Stewardship Specialist I implements and audits regulatory programs related to the domestic and international distribution and registration of products and chemical substances manufactured by Ergon, Inc. The Product Stewardship Specialist I also determines applicability of emerging regulations and communicates impacts to Ergon companies.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Appropriate candidates to fill this role will have a bachelor's degree (or higher) in chemistry, biology, or another science-related field. He or she will have the following additional qualifications:
Able to travel 10-20% to the company sites/conferences
1-3 years experience in regulatory preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time across multiple project areas
R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S
The Product Stewardship Specialist I is responsible for implementing and auditing programs related to chemical and product compliance. This role will focus on developing expertise on chemical management regulations for the US and International markets.
KEY ROLE DUTIES:
- Manage requirements for chemical reporting (i.e., Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), EU Restriction, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), etc.)
- Complete raw material regulatory checklist for external customers and field questions from internal and external customers regarding product compliance status
- Provide regulatory support to internal and external customer with regards to Federal, State, and International regulations as they pertain to our products use, transport, import/export and sustainability
- Conduct internal audits of procedures related to Product Stewardship
- Develop reports or presentations to communicate the Product Stewardship related activities
- Provide support to other roles within Product Stewardship (i.e., Hazard Communication Specialist, Sustainability Specialist, Global Product Stewardship Manager, and VP-Product Stewardship)
- Assist with other ad-hoc analysis needs for the Product Stewardship Department
- Develop skills necessary for CPPS and/or HazMat Certification
- Provide support for Ergon's sustainability efforts (e.g., LCAs, contributions to the Doing Right report, industry committee involvement)
