Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Production Engineer for a chemical manufacturing client in Port Arthur, Texas. Role is on a 9/80 schedule in the Port Arthur office with up to 10% travel.
•Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years’ experience in product engineering in a chemicals or related sector required
•Experience in distillation and hydrogenation reactor projects required
•Knowledge of MS Project and/or Honeywell Experion preferred
•Base salary of $100k - $125k DOE plus 10% bonus opportunity and excellent benefits
Role Overview:
The Production Engineer role leads distillation projects and hydrogenation reactors for the company and acts as a technical resource for plant operations to implement process improvements and cost savings.
Responsibilities:
•Lead the operation of distillation projects and/or hydrogenation reactors.
•Understand and work with plant utilities.
•Work with Operations Management to provide data and chemical engineering support for specific product campaigns.
•Work closely with Technical and plant personnel to optimize operations and meet plant goals.
•Work closely with QA to ensure that all product specifications are met.
•Assist the Engineering Department in developing cost effective projects to optimize production and capital expenses.
•Develop procedures for items already in of for future production.
•Troubleshoot plant operations when actual operations do not meet expectations.
•Generate reports that detail and summarize a specific projects or campaigns - including mass balances, process data analysis and de-bottlenecking proposals.
•Develop and maintain specific schedules to meet production demand.
•Actively participate with operators in the field to help identify process and HSE improvements.
•Assist to optimize the disposition of the waste generated in each project to improve cost savings.
•Lead quarterly improvement meetings with Technical personnel for the main projects.
•Lead pre-campaign meetings prior to start-up to discuss all items related to the upcoming project.

•Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering and 5+ years of related experience
•Experience in distillation and hydrogenation reactor projects required
•Able to participate in the company on-call facility policy, when needed.
•Have or have ability to obtain TWIC Card.
•Honeywell Experion and/or MS Project experience preferred
