Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a background or field of study in Supply Chain Management or a related field. An understanding of lean manufacturing techniques and Continuous Improvement is a huge plus in this role. The candidate should have the ability to balance multiple tasks at one time and hit deadlines without compromising results or productivity. Strong skills in Microsoft Office are important.Excel VLOOKUP and pivot tables are key. The candidate will need analytical and critical thinking skills. The candidate should have a positive approach and be a problem-solver, focused on finding solutions, and should be comfortable recommending changes. The ideal candidate will possess interpersonal and communications skills with various personality types, as well as the ability to write professional memos and letters. Prior work experience in Supply chain or manufacturing helpful with willingness to learn new things.
Essential Job Functions
The Production Control Analyst will be responsible for completing the following tasks, along with other associated tasks as assigned:
- Analyze pegging report and identify shortages 2-3 week look ahead and escalate any show stoppers
- Co-ordinate with Buyers and Shop floor owners for on time material fulfilment
- Develop and Maintain priority list for the Shops by working with front line production leaders
- Work closely with MPL, advise on material availability, and resolve material issues
- Conduct daily walks on the floor resolve material issues
- Escalate Materials issues at the DMM
- Own the material piece on the shop floor develop FIFO lanes and staging areas by work with the area Leads.
- Drive Lean initiatives to achieve material flow
- Establish working rhythm with production control manager to ensure daily fulfillment and "Zero Hour Loss" on production floor
- Document and update training materials (Procedures & Processes)
- Resolve MRP exceptions, Release shop orders, work on PODs, Issue Shop orders, close shop orders, order kits/material from warehouse
- Establish Safety Stock levels and Kanban methodologies in partnership with production planning
- Drive RCA investigation and resolution
- Lead small projects in analyzing work-streams and understanding inefficiencies and recommending countermeasures
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
