As a Production controller, you will be responsible for facilitating and tracking the flow of work/work order packets through all Pipe and Vessel production and processing departments based upon baselined schedules committed to American Pipe and Vessel customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Builds job packets and work order forms for queuing
- Organizes all work order tracking in MRP system of record.
- Coordinates the flow of work and materials through the departments according to published production schedule. Updates management on the progress of work (actuals vs. standards) by monitoring work, receiving feedback from management, and updating the work order.
- Prints and reviews Work Order Readiness Report (WORR) daily. Coordinates with Managers and Team Leads to ensure product flow and priorities are correct.
- Coordinates the delivery of sub-components according to priorities and work order specifications; resolves issues, if
- Ensures production is accurately tracked so orders are properly satisfied.
- Ensures booking of all time and materials to work orders.
- Ensures materials are properly issued into work orders. Notifies other departments of missing reporting.
- Reviews all completed job packet information for accuracy and correctness.
- Assists Department manager in entering and verifying work orders within the ERP system using data provided.
- Balances out material and inventory as production changes.
- Verifies and corrects engineering and material data.
- Run reports as required by the Manager and distribute as needed.
- Evaluates MRP messages.
- Releases required work orders in a timely fashion and promptly pushes their status to completion after reconciling variances.
- Analyzes production plans.
- Confers with department supervisors to determine work and changes in process methods from Customer Service and Engineering; tracks engineering changes and controlling the change.
- Maintains project books including daily filing, scanning of necessary documents, and shop drawing job books.
- Proactively communicates with Management if material shortages or other issues arise that may affect the ability to accomplish
- Ensures all cycle counting of production material is performed and accounted for on a regular basis.
- Works closely with all departments to manage the product flow to meet deadlines and prevent delays.
- Assesses and determines reasons for delays in delivery of parts and recommends corrective action to supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 2-4 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read and interpret linear and circumference measurements using tape measures and calipers.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to read and interpret product drawings. Effectively communicate in English with all levels of employees, both verbally and in writing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of ERP systems, MRP, Planning Software, Advanced Excel Skills, and Word Processing software.
APICS knowledge or certification is a plus.
English/Spanish bilingual is a plus.
