Job Title: Production Encapsulation Mechanic Location: Somerset, NJ Type: Direct Hire Summary: Encapsulation Mechanic / Technical Associate is responsible for all assembly / disassembly / troubleshooting, and cleaning of various encapsulation parts, pumps, as well as disassembly / reassembly of the entire machine. Also responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect, assuring the quality and quantity of product produced. Responsibilities Physical Requirements: - Stand/walk for most of the work shift.
- Perform repetitive job duties that require constant attention to manufacturing process.
- Periodically push/pull containers with wheels weighing up to 500 pounds and lift containers up to 50 pounds. Adjust to distractions and interruptions and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Environment: - Exposure to noise levels that may require employees to wear hearing protection.
- ontrolled temperature levels, with oily/wet conditions that will require slip resistant soles.
- Employees to wear protective eye wear, hair nets, uniforms, steel-toed shoes and gloves.
Requirements - High School Diploma or its equivalent is required
- Complete working knowledge of the soft gelatin encapsulation process is a plus, typically resulting from a minimum of one year experience in related jobs (e.g., soft gelatin encapsulation, injection molding, tablet operator/mechanic auto mechanics, machinist, or other similar machine operations) and depending on prior experience may require four to six months training and experience in this job under close supervision.
- Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and fix other equipment malfunctions, such as other process equipment, and minor boiler/HVAC/facility repair if necessary.
- Fluent English skills to read/understand written instructions, and other information; to maintain routine written records, and to communicate problems effectively to supervisors.
- Accurate arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, division)
- Manual dexterity to manipulate controls, disassemble/assemble equipment using a variety of hand tools
- Physical ability to stand/walk for much of work shift, and push/pull/lift large containers weighing up to 50 pounds
