About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Production Engineer to join our client's team. This individual will be the key technical person responsible for overseeing and optimizing the production processes, equipment, and systems to achieve production goals and uphold quality standards. The role demands a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities, adaptable to ever-changing production environments and challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Optimization: Continually review and enhance processes to minimize total cost of ownership, identifying and addressing inefficiencies and bottlenecks within the plant's supply chain.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control standards, develop and enforce quality assurance protocols in alignment with specifications defined by the Innovations department.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze operational costs to identify savings opportunities and propose changes to reduce expenses without compromising quality. Lead the justification, planning, and execution of capital investment projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to tackle production challenges and promote process improvements. Encourage and support employees in lean activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in production processes through lean manufacturing practices, initiating and overseeing Kaizen events, and upholding 5S and LDMS standards.
- Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and resolve technical issues, collaborating with maintenance and IT departments to implement solutions and minimize production disruptions.
Position within the Organization:
- Reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Electromechanical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel); AutoCAD or SolidWorks skills preferred.
- Knowledge of discrete manufacturing, production planning, and financial justifications for investment projects.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
