About the Job
This position supervises all employees and equipment working in a food manufacturing processing plant and ensures all production meets customers' specifications. Must demonstrate leadership by complying with good manufacturing practices, food safety, and food quality including: proper dress code, personal cleanliness, neatness, and following proper sanitation procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring all safety rules and procedures are followed. Ensures reports of all food safety, food quality, unsanitary and unsafe conditions are addressed immediately.
Additionally this position is responsible for training all crew members in their jobs, safety while on the job and food safety while working around the product to make sure all rules are followed and working conditions are safe. This role suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Coordinates activities with other supervisors and reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, make any suggestions as to up-dates when needed.
- Requires understanding and knowledge of Micro Soft Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or other similar programs.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must successfully pass the company's forklift certification program and maintain this certification while in this position.
- Must be capable of being First aid/CPR/AED trained and certified.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
