About the Job
Job Purpose: The Production Maintenance Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the production
maintenance staff that performs maintenance service and repairs to complex electrical and mechanical production
equipment and systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Hires and trains maintenance department staff.
· Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff.
· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Duties:
· Performs maintenance management by direct supervising maintenance personnel and establishing
priorities in maintenance schedules.
· Maintains manufacturing assets and facility, parts inventory, monitoring purchase orders, invoice
approvals, and manages the department budget.
· Implements standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness.
· Coordinates resources for troubleshooting equipment repairs.
· Reviews and supports equipment failure analysis and troubleshooting resolutions.
· Trains, coaches, and educates workers in best practices and safety procedures.
· Monitors work orders to ensure accuracy and quality.
· Fosters effective working relationships with all other departments in the plant.
· Ensures preventative maintenance relating to production equipment are conducted on time and
accurately.
· Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
Skills/Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or other engineering/technology
discipline preferred
· Two (2) years of maintenance management in a manufacturing setting preferred
· 5+ years of maintenance experience
· Must be able to demonstrate exemplary communication skills including: Effective listening, ability to
present complicated topics in a clear way both written and verbally, basic negotiation skills, interaction
with internal maintenance staff, operators, supervisors, management, contractors, and outside engineering resources. · Must be a team player, respectful, request and offer assistance as necessary · Must possess a high level of understanding of project management and engineering methodologies · Must maintain an optimistic, positive attitude in recognizing challenges and finding solutions · Must possess solid analytical skills in developing continuous improvement initiatives, cost reductions, waste elimination methods, improvements, and safety practices. Physical Requirements · Must work full-time, on-site role in our Corydon, Indiana facility · Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, darkness, and/or noise. · Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards. · Position requires the ability to stand, sit at a desk, walking around office and plant, lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds, utilizing fine dexterity, and reaching, kneeling, crawling and twisting to inspect equipment. Also requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
