About the Job
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Manufacture optical fiber coils for use in gyroscopes
- Start and run computer controlled machines/equipment
- Work per standard operation procedures
- Document the manufacturing process as required
- Inspect parts/coils under microscope
- Perform basic fiber test to coil packs
- Perform basic equipment maintenance
- Troubleshoot equipment as needed
- Assist engineers as needed
- Cross-training in other areas as needed
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience or practice executing delicate tasks with small, fragile parts such as in fiber coil winding (ideal) or other work/activities such as watch/jewelry making or repairs
- Optical fiber coiling or handling experience desired
- Experience with inspection or working with precision under microscope desired
- Process documentation experience desire
Skills
- Computer literacy including data entry in Excel
- Ability to see details at close range
- Excellent hand to eye coordination
