At the direction of the Materials Manager, act as a liaison between production control and operations as well as outside vendors and accounting to manage the value stream for the metal end to ensure products meet on-time delivery (OTD) and budget objectives.

JOB SUMMARY
At the direction of the Materials Manager, act as a liaison between production control and operations as well as outside vendors and accounting to manage the value stream for the metal end to ensure products meet on-time delivery (OTD) and budget objectives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for daily report out with material manager on metal end operations.
- Responsible for metal WIP planning including:
- Daily WIP reports (WIP, Still to Go, Pull From)
- Daily Meetings (Ship Meeting, Production and metal end meetings, line walks, vendor/customer meetings)
- Dock/Ship plan (maintain daily, create 1-month, create 3-month)
- Assist managers with planning to achieve dock plan and on-time shipments.
- Responsible for creating and communicating internal and vendor forecast (monthly, quarterly, 12 months+).
- Review production schedules to determine materials requirements or material priorities and monitor inventories.
- Calculate, requisition, and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
- Obtain from vendors the delivery of supplies and raw materials to expedite the flow of materials to meet production schedules.
- Work directly with OSP dock on vendor scheduling and performance management.
- Assist with last cast dates for shipments with front-end production control.
- Create Line of Balance (LOB) on customer requirements.
- Assist commercial team with customer requests for WIP information.
- Work with the operations team to help remove constraints to WIP flow and regularly engage in problem solving and constraint management.
- Proactively communicate with operations on delays, interruptions or difficulties that may impact production.
- Assist with ensuring safety stock inventory levels for both finished goods and raw materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business/Supply Chain Management.
- Experience: Minimum five (5)+ years of related manufacturing experience with at least (3) in a related planner/scheduler/analyst position
- Certifications/Licenses: APIC Certification preferred.
- Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Prior experience utilizing an MRP system (Oracle preferred), Excellent computer related skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel, Proven critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills, Knowledgeable of production processes, Excels in a fast-paced and growing business environment, Strong organizational skills, Detail oriented and results driven with the ability to adapt to changing priorities, Excellent teamwork and the ability to work successfully with dynamic personalities, Knowledge of similar products and raw materials is a plus
- Hours: Ability to start as early as 6/6:30am and work extended hours as needed
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Working Environment: Office Environment; frequent visits to production floor
- Physical Demands: Sitting/Standing for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 20lbs. Extended periods of time using a computer screen. Extended periods of time using a keyboard.
- Travel Requirements: Minimal, up to 10%
- Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in
- Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
- Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
