Production Planner I/II/III - MSA Safety

• Use ERP generated reports or planned orders to convert to production plan, acknowledging incoming supply of materials, inventory availability, resource constraints, and internal/external customers’ needs. Ensure production orders are kept up to date to provide accurate MRP signals.
• Utilize SAP demand signals to understand workload per responsible production line and aid the capacity planning process.
• Use SAP exception messaging to expedite, de-expedite, reschedule and re-plan your work centers based on internal/external customers’ dynamically changing needs.
• Work closely with the NPD project team as it relates to master data set up, workload planning, driving demand signals in SAP, and scheduling beta and stock builds to ensure production readiness.
• Ensure execution of production plan through verbal and electronic communication of production schedule to the assigned Production Supervisor(s) and Group Leader(s).  Communicate schedule changes to PLM and Customer Service as necessary.
• Apply the MSA Operating System to correctly identify root causes of problems and drive corrective action results.

• Sufficient technical proficiency to perform various complex supply chain analysis.  This will involve pulling data from multiple sources on a regular basis and combining to create a full picture of demand.  Monitoring and identifying opportunities to clean data is an important part of the job.
• Proven ability to model disciplined execution following detailed standard work, maintaining a high level of attention to detail, driving efficiency, productivity and personal accountability.
• Demonstrated innovative and technological mindset to ensure master data integrity and accuracy, seek out latest industry trends, road-map future technology and champion early adoption.

Education and experience required:

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Logistics related fields.

• This position is available at three different career levels based upon experience:

  • Level I: no experience required
  • Level II: 4 years of planning, transportation, logistics and/or purchasing experience
  • Level III: 6 years of planning, transportation, logistics and/or purchasing experience
