Summary:
Responsible for utilizing scheduling tools to plan all production activities across various departments to meet customer and project requirements. Collaborate with department supervisors to develop a realistic and efficient production schedule, updating it daily to reflect changes and ensure smooth operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
· Maintain and manage the daily active production schedule.
· Coordinate production workflow and scheduling throughout the production cycle.
· Plan and prioritize operations to optimize performance and minimize delays based on customer needs and production capacity.
· Identify and coordinate overtime requirements with department supervisors based on customer demands and manpower availability.
· Assist in determining manpower requirements to meet production demand, in collaboration with department supervisors.
· Monitor jobs to ensure they remain within the quoted manhours.
· Address production issues promptly, aiming to minimize disruptions and provide constructive solutions.
· Prepare and submit status and performance reports as requested.
· Work closely with department supervisors, project managers, quality control, and other staff to ensure accurate scheduling.

Required Skills & Abilities:
· 3+ years of experience as a production planner.
· Strong understanding of production planning processes.
· Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, with intermediate Excel skills as the primary scheduling tool.
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with department supervisors and project managers throughout the production process.
· Experience in steel fabrication and job shop environments is a plus.

Education & Experience:
· High school diploma required; additional education or certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
· Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
· Must be able to access all areas of the facility to assess needs.
