Job DescriptionThe Production Planner will play a crucial role in optimizing our production processes and ensuring the efficient flow of materials and resources. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in production planning, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to analyze and interpret data to drive decision-making. This role requires a proactive individual who is eager to contribute to our team’s success and develop their skills further in a fast-paced industry. Production Planner is an individual contributor involved in Production, Process Control, Inventory Control and Materials Management.
QualificationsResponsibilities
- Oversee production inventory management to support efficient production flow, including defining optimal inventory levels, controlling stock and tracking progress to production targets. Prioritize material in the line, ensuring timely availability of inventory to meet production demands. Monitor and report on performance, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and achieve plan targets.
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to optimize workflow and resource allocation. Coordinate with production teams and other departments to ensure schedules are adhered to and updated as needed. Adjust schedules to address unexpected delays or changes in production demand.
- Monitor and track production progress ensuring targets are met and identifying any potential bottlenecks. Generate regular reports on production metrics, such as lead times, efficiency, and turnover. Communicate production status and updates to relevant stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Identify areas within the production process for process optimization and continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing techniques or other process improvements. Work with Industrial Engineering to analyze production data to reduce waste and optimize the allocation of resources.
- Proactively identify risks to the production schedule or inventory levels and develop contingency plans.
- Key SAP user for Production department entering VT/TEB (operator working time / Equipment working time) values in SAP to create routings for each product.
- Work with support groups to create reporting for operation excellence.
Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- Foundational understanding of cost components such as labor, raw materials and overhead, with experience tracking cost throughout the manufacturing value stream.
- Strong attention to detail for data entry and tracking accuracy, along with an ability to identify and address discrepancies in data.
- Confidence to speak up and lead challenging conversations among cross-functional teams. Facilitate discussions, provide insights, and influence decisions without direct reporting authority, fostering alignment and collaboration in a diverse group setting.
- Proven ability to train and guide team members at various skill levels, using clear communication and adaptable teaching methods. Capable of developing training materials, delivering presentations, and ensuring understanding and retention of key concepts.
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate new software programs and technology. A proactive approach to troubleshooting, seeking resources, and mastering unfamiliar tools is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS Degree in Business, Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience. Exposure to manufacturing environment.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in SAP for data entry and management; experience in PP (Production Planning) or Controlling modules.
- Familiarity with any data analysis or reporting software such as ProPT, AE CAP, AG-DATEN, or Promis.
- Production Planning experience.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position $68,000-72,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
