Senior Production Planners are responsible for the entire Manufacturing Planning & Control process for the site product portfolio. This includes support S&OP Process, Master Production Schedule (MPS), Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), Capacity Planning & Production Sequencing. Communicating status, projecting inventory position, and updating customers and suppliers of changes to forecast are integral parts of this role. The Senior Production Planner will also be the value stream (VS) primary point-of-contact for operations and will ensure proactive communication to all relevant stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical planning, leadership and mentoring to the other Production Planners and will be required to support and drive process and system improvement projects in line with business needs.
- Responsible for planning, implementing, and initiating activities on cross site projects related to Supply Chain to ensure project deliverable dates and scope are met.
- Employ change management skills as part of project roll outs.
- Analyzes product demand, sales patterns/forecasts, production specifications and plant capacity data.
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates production resources for a range of products with low to moderate complexity and/or number to meet the Master Production Schedule and/or customer orders.
- Resolves manufacturing resource and material availability issues affecting schedule.
- Generates work orders and allocate associated materials.
- Monitors planning modules or production planning system and related master data information (Inventory, Safety Stock, Lot size, Lead Time, Work Orders, etc).
- Monitors and identify opportunities for improving lead time improvement.
- Establishes effective communication with various groups such as customers, sales offices, operations, site and/or production departments as required. Monitors work orders from start to ensure the on-time delivery of products.
- Understand and meet Planning main KPI's such as Attainment to Schedule (ATS), Schedule Attainment (SA) and Master Plan Attainment (MPS), failure mode analysis with corrections.
- Reviews capacity loads and identifies possible manufacturing constraints. Monitors and anticipates production issues due to capacity and new product launches.
- Ensures various systems data integrity and accuracy of signals.
- Generates purchase requisitions/Purchase Orders as needed.
- Participates in new product launch meetings and assist in developing new product forecasts and production schedules.
- Lead and identifies improvement opportunities for plant or manufacturing unit supply S&OPs as required.
- Identify and drives opportunities to improve inventory investment through inventory entitlement model for applicable production line. Including reviewing "Excess & Obsolete" inventory.
- Drives Lean / Six Sigma Improvement Kaizens or Opportunities.
- Back-up to other planners and/or coaches Junior Planners which includes ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.
- Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics, and compliance always.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues and/or opportunities to next management level.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of related experience in supply chain or process excellence is required.
- Experience working with MPS/MRP in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Experience with ERP (SAP/APO/SNP) & Advanced Planning Systems (OMP) is preferred.
- Planning, Purchasing or Manufacturing experience in a Medical/ Pharmaceutical or Consumer industry preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g. GMP, ISO requirements) preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office, specifically MS Excel, is required.
- Ability to read and comprehend procedures and process instructions on drawings is required.
- SAP, Alteryx, Windchill Doc experience desired/ plus.
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Certifications desirable.
- Supply Chain Certifications (APICS/ IBF) desirable.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $90,000 to $144,900.
Bonus Language - The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. • Please use the following language:
