We are searching for a motivated & experienced Production Planning Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
This position requires a highly motivated analytical professional with experience in production planning, forecasting, and capacity analysis. The Planning Manager is responsible for developing and managing finished goods production plans for assigned bakeries and external bakeries ensuring the highest level of product availability at the lowest cost. The role entails establishing KPIs and methods considering current industry best practices and technologies. A key aspect of the position is the ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with senior management, functional team members, and internal/external customers to meet and exceed objectives.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide constrained production requests based on the current supply, demand, and lead time situation
- Ensure production requests are progressing as expected and evaluate if changes are required’
- Collaborate with internal/external customers on potential supply issues and opportunities
- Work closely with the Forecasting Manager and Sales team on item forecasts and promotions
- Anticipate potential supply disruptions, identify possible solutions, and align on course of action with Supply Chain team as well as other functional departments
- Identify future excess or obsolete inventory situations and work with other functional departments to minimize the impact
- Maintain shared systems and reports so they are accurate for others to make timely decisions
- Meet periodically with key customers to align on supply plans / KPIs both short and long term
- Ad hoc analysis to evaluate different supply scenarios as needed
- Meet regularly with internal/external bakeries to review performance metrics and volumes
- Ensure accurate pricing with external bakeries
- Set 12 month supply plans taking into account seasonal prebuilds, allocations, new product launches, promotions, line maintenance, etc
- Keep current production parameters including but not limited to minimum order quantities, safety stock levels, sequencing, transit time, etc
- Provide monthly reporting of results and supply projections for senior leadership
- Identify and implement IT solutions to improve the function and stay up to date on industry best practices
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed, all positions are also responsible for:
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments. Must follow all Company Safety policies, as well as all GMP regulations and all lock-out/tag-out requirements according to OSHA requirements.
- As part of your supervisory responsibility and as a back-up, supervisors must be able to do your work in ways that ensure safe food. You must also be aware of issues associated with food safety and safe food handling practices that are relevant to your job. Formal training is not required, but in house Food Safety Training conducted by a qualified staff member is mandatory. You must know how to recognize, prevent and alleviate food safety hazards. This position requires good working knowledge of the SQF code
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree, plus 5-10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or French a plus. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be able to effectively communicate with individuals possessing various degrees of technical expertise.
