Production Processing Assistant
Position Summary
Under direct supervision, the Production Processing Assistant supports with various tasks, including the refurbishment, processing, organization, and picking of parts as well as photo documentation of parts at various stages. The technician will understand the life cycle of parts from donor stage to a finished good and will assist overall part flow from suppliers and internal resources by preparing work orders and managing production lots.
The desired candidate is an effective communicator and team player with the ability to multitask, follow work instructions, and be adaptable. The goal is to ensure smooth and efficient production operations for the downstream value chain in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”
Essential Functions
- Accountable for ensuring the accuracy of demand and part master data within MRP
- Works in cross-functional teams and champions continuous improvement initiatives to meet or exceed cost, quality, and delivery goals; Proactively updates team on critical supply issues
- Analyzes and confirms material requirements and inventory on hand or in transit to optimize overall supply chain planning; accountable for on-time delivery of UPD and OSP material
- Generates purchase requisitions and partners with Procurement to ensure the supply base can meet demand and forecasted need
- May provide technical leadership, lead teams on assignments, check quality and quality of work, troubleshoot production processing problems, and recommend solutions
- Trains new/lower grade assistants on processes and procedures
- Works with Lead and Manager to ensure production demands meets the specified production schedule
- Ensures workflow is tracked and on time through daily meetings
- Works daily tasks lists set out by Lead and Manager
- Performs operational procedures according to required engineering specifications
- Reports any issues, delays, and all non-conformances in production line to Lead/Manager and ensures correction in a timely manner
- Reports any material shortages and/or part defects to Lead and Manager
- Disassembles, cleans, and assembles parts to prepare for outside processing
- Coordinates and assists outside processing part movement and staging under direction from the Lead
- Works closely with disassembly vendor to ensure timely flow of donor parts
- Creates and updates work instructions related to preparing parts for outside processing
- Analyzes and tests parts for quality conformity according to Engineering Dept’s SOP
- Manages inventory levels within MRP and transactions for inventory moves
- Works in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrates the ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goals
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment
- Assists other team members as necessary
- Assists in special projects as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience with automotive parts and/or working in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Basic understanding and use of MS Office Suite
Preferred Education/Experience
- Technical training in the automotive/motorcycle industry
- Familiarity with Porsche vehicles (early models)
- Prior experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing
- Prior experience in rapid growth environment

- Frequent lifting up to 20 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to speak clearly and distinctly and hear and be heard and understood in person and by telephone
- Must be able to reach and work in and around vehicles
- Must be able to work in a busy/fast paced automotive shop environment
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the production environment
- Must be able to start at an early schedule and work overtime when needed
Compensation
The starting pay range for this position is between $16.00 - $28.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
