Production Supervisor 1st Shift Leeds
Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor will oversee the productionprocess in a manufacturing facility, ensuring that production targets are metwhile maintaining safety protocols and quality standards. The ideal candidatewill have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability tomanage and motivate a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols andprocedures to ensure a safe working environment and conduct safety training asneeded.
Supervise Production Staff: Manage and supervise a teamof production workers, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, andproviding training and development opportunities.
Production Planning: Work with production planners toorganize workflow, establish priorities, and ensure that production schedulesare met.
Quality Control: Monitor the production process to ensureproducts meet quality standards and address any issues that arise to maintainproduct quality.
Inventory Management: Ensure that raw materials andsupplies are available for production and manage inventory levels to avoidshortages or overstock.
Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance teamsto ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and arrange forrepairs or replacements as necessary
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement inthe production process and implement changes to increase efficiency, reducewaste, and lower costs.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production data,including output, downtime, and quality issues, and prepare reports formanagement.
Problem Solving: Quickly identify and resolve productionissues, whether related to machinery, staffing, or supply chain problems.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelorsdegree in a related field is preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in amanufacturing or production environment with at least 1-2 years in asupervisory role.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of manufacturing processes,machinery, and equipment.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles andcontinuous improvement techniques is a plus.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team managementabilities, including the ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with teammembers, management, and other departments.
Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess situations,identify problems, and implement effective solutions.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills with theability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office andexperience with SAP
Working Conditions:
The role requires working in a manufacturing environment,which involves exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and varyingtemperatures.
The position may require standing for long periods andlifting heavy objects.
