Primary Duty: Supervises and directs the activities of the production team to achieve a world-class, high-quality product. Enforces health and safety regulations and adheres to the collective bargaining agreement guidelines to optimize production and labor utilization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures the production line operates efficiently and produces the highest quality product possible.
- Enters scrap information into the Pareto system; informs employees of issues and solutions to reduce scrap rates.
- Cleans robot pour heads and collaborates with engineers for necessary tool changes.
- Assists employees with scrap, repair, and packing issues; ensures they have the tools and materials needed for their tasks.
- Completes daily paperwork and administrative duties, including KPI Charting, QA Alerts, Rotation Sheets, and Time Tracker entries.
- Conducts WPS activities daily, such as Shift Meetings, 5S Audits, Kamishibai Audits, and TWI Training for new teammates.
- Interprets and enforces company policies and the collective bargaining agreement.
- Assists with start-up and shut-down procedures for the production line.
- Performs workers' tasks as needed.
- Performs spill team duties as necessary.
- Acts as Incident Commander during emergencies, directing evacuation procedures and communicating with emergency services.
- Responds to union grievances and collaborates with subordinates, union, and management to resolve complaints.
- Suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate departmental activities.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area for employees.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises 25 to 30 production employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
