We are looking for a Production Supervisor to join our rapidly expanding team in the Portland area. The Production Supervisor is a key contributor to the successful operation of the plant. This person will use their knowledge and technical expertise to achieve plant Key Performance Indicators and budgetary expectations. They will play a central role in the development of future leaders, continuous improvement of their line productivity and will cultivate a safe working environment for all of their team members.
Pay starts at $75,000 annually
Responsibilities:Successful Production Line Performance
- Ensure on-time start-up and shut-down of your line.
- Partner with Production Manager to successfully staff according to daily production and budgetary needs.
- Responsible for achieving key performance indicators including but not limited to; Quality, Cost, Safety, Delivery.
- Reduce and/or eliminate the amount of finished product rework/rejects by adhering to FSQA policies and procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Production Leadership Responsibilities
- Promote a safe, positive, team-oriented environment by embodying our Ajinomoto Shared Values.
- Coach and issue corrective action up-to and including separation and provide employees with periodic reviews of their performance.
- Maintain and update Visual Process Sheets for production line.
- Lead and cultivate a healthy TPM environment, using the tools in place to drive improvements daily.
- Cultivate a safe work environment by completing/ensuring the completion of all Safety Training for you and your employees including but not limited to, Job Safety Assessments, Leading Monthly Training, and Training on Safety Incidents at the Plant and across the network.
- Train and enforce best practices to meet daily budgetary targets for your line.
Plant/Production Safety
- Be a Safety Champion by completing required number of GEMBA Walks, Red Dot Tours and RAM Discussions.
- Ensuring departmental procedures, GMPs, quality and safety standards are met or exceeded.
- Accurate completion of required production and FSQA documents in a timely manner.
- Follow General Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP program standards as outlined.
- Reduce and/or eliminate the amount of finished product rework/rejects by adhering to FSQA policies and procedures.
- Bachelors Degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university is preferred.
- Or at least two years directly related food manufacturing experience and/or training.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Total Performance Management (TPM) experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, financial reports and government regulations.
- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Experience in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
