Range: $80,000 - $90,000
How You Will Make an Impact?
The hands-on Fabrication Supervisor will oversee training and ensuring all fabrication team members within the plant meet our engineering standards and comply with standard welding skills and competencies. This position will be responsible for improving work center process and flow, efficiency, continuous improvement in the area of fabrication. The Fabrication Supervisor will create and foster a team-based culture that demonstrates a commitment to quality and the quality process.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Mentor and train Team Leads on all fabrication processes and procedures
- Effective and efficient utilization of people and other resources (overtime, equipment, material, etc.)
- Proactively provide direction in mixed work order scheduling to obtain best flow based on priority
- Champion 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Poindexter Production System initiatives
- Monitor and control inventory and work in process levels to ensure appropriate availability
- Internal maintenance of equipment, including working with vendors when sourced externally
- Anticipate and respond to challenges along with the ability to implement changes as needed
- Evaluates progress of each team member during training period and upon completion of training; provides feedback to team members on their progress
- Daily productivity reporting
- Act as liaison between operations and other key areas of the organization such as; production, engineering, customer service and sales
- Ensure safety regulations are being followed and training is provided
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Required Credentials
- At least 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing supervision and training experience
- Proficiency in Excel (pivots, conditional formatting, graph's)
- Inventory control and cycle counting experience with raw materials
- Experience in Schematics, Blue Print reading, AutoCAD introduction
- Excellent communication skills with multiple levels and functions, personal accountability and a sense of urgency
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proven record of maintaining and exceeding daily, weekly, and monthly metrics
- Lead by example
Preferred Credentials
- Associate's degree
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles a plus
- 3 years of Fabrication or welding experience preferred

- This job operates in a manufacturing plant/shop environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
