Responsibilities:Safety:
- Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
- Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
- Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws
- Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
- Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, Change Management, General communication, Town Hall, etc.)
- Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
- Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
- Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
- Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.
Production Operations:
- Ensure production operations are adhering to schedules established by determining work priorities and scheduling;
- Coordinate production activities for manufacturing areas to insure productions goals are achieved;
- Complete and submit production related paperwork;
- Ensure that manpower is properly utilized in order to achieve MES goal of 90%;
- Responsible for insuring that heldware and regrind are maintained at a level that meets the goal established for the plant.
- Responsible for maintaining the Food Safety Program (GMP)
Quality:
- Ensure that all Quality Plans are understood and followed by staff;
- Confirm that all quality checks are being performed by all production personnel as established by the Quality Plans;
- Work closely with the quality inspectors and supervisor to identify and minimize quality defects and complaints.
Personnel:
- Lead staff to accomplish activities in an efficient and safe manner by:
- Providing definition of job duties
- Providing training opportunities for staff
- Conducting performance evaluations
- Defining criteria for personnel advancement
- Administer coaching/counseling as required in a timely manner
- Provide accurate attendance records to human resources indicating any point assessments
- Enforce personnel policies and procedures; complete and submit all associated paperwork in a timely manner;
- Maintain safe working conditions with a goal of zero recordable accidents and zero lost time accidents;
- Control employee overtime hours.
Manufacturing Support:
- Assist other departments with special projects as assigned.
- Actively participate in production management team meetings as requested.
- Recommend/justify equipment/tooling purchases.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (ISO)
Authorities:
- Perform essential functions and assigned duties while communicating any deviations from the requirements to management
- Report any safety concerns to management and to shut down any equipment that presents a safety hazard
- Make management or appropriate parties aware of any potential nonconforming issue or mechanical problems
- Authority to shut down production or stop any machine for any reason deemed necessary
Education:
BS Degree in Business, Operations Management or equivalent experience.
Technical Skills:
Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership to peers and subordinates
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
Flexibility to work some overtime, as necessary
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word
Experience:
3-5 years production supervision experience in a high volume-manufacturing environment.

Organization Relationships:
- Reports to Production Manager
- Interacts with Human Resources, Planner, Quality Control, Warehouse, Tool Room, and Maintenance.
- As needed interacts with Raw Material Suppliers, Customers.
