About the Job
Our client is seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor for their second shift to lead and enhance their production operations. This salaried role involves managing daily activities, ensuring safety and quality, and planning for future growth. You will be a key player in achieving department objectives, located near Middletown, NY.
Shift: 2:30pm to 11:00pm M-F and 2 Saturdays/month.
Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor will include:
- Implement and enforce manufacturing safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure production processes and quality standards are followed.
- Develop and oversee quality policies and procedures.
- Manage safety, quality, and productivity on the production floor.
- Motivate, coach, and develop production leads.
- Provide performance feedback and identify opportunities for productivity improvements.
- Plan and coordinate long-term operational infrastructure with HR, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Maintenance, and Supply Chain departments.
- Oversee departmental goals, labor resources, training, and budget management.
- Lead investigations into errors, accidents, and quality issues.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications of the Production Supervisor:
- BA/BS in Engineering or related field preferred; or equivalent experience in a lean manufacturing or production environment.
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in food production, consumer packaged goods, or similar industries.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and computer skills.
- Efficient with Math and MS/Excel
- Knowledge of FDA, GMPs, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods (6s, DMAIC).
- Flexible schedule with availability to work weekends as needed.
- Highly organized and self-motivated individual
- Detail oriented and deadline driven
Pay for this position is commensurate with experience and education, ranging roughly from $70 – 85K
