Position Title: Production Support Specialist
Wage: $21-$24/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Production Support Specialist for a company in Madison, WI. This is a direct hire role.
Production Support Specialist Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Compile and sort production records to gather information for KPIs and department communication boards
- Maintain the production database by entering and verifying data
- Resolve discrepancies in production work orders by analyzing and reconciling information
- Respond to inquiries regarding work order status, material location, and availability
- Close manufacturing work orders and maintain an organized file system
- Conduct month-end job, batch, and inventory reconciliations, including raw materials and finished goods
- Report work order variances to the Shift Leader/Production Manager
- Comply with established quality and safety systems policies and SOPs
- Verify clerical computations against physical stock counts and address any discrepancies
- Review and reconcile inventory levels with the work order system, addressing discrepancies as needed
- Conduct inventory counts as specified by the Production Manager
- Coordinate with Logistics on material receipts and movements, addressing any discrepancies
- Maintain adequate inventory of production supplies
- Enter raw material receipts and ensure accuracy against the bill of lading
- Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities, including validation of test results
- Manage non-conforming materials, ensuring proper identification and disposition
- Assist with annual Quality System audits and compliance with procedures
- Maintain quality records and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Production Support Specialist Requirements:
- Associate Degree in a related field with 1 year of experience, or a High School Diploma with 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Oracle or other MRP/inventory control systems is preferred
- Ability to type a minimum of 45 (net) words per minute
- Quick learner of specialized software systems
- Proven administrative competence with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workloads
- High degree of discretion in handling confidential matters
- Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and team members
