The role of the Weld Support Technician (ECC) is to provide support to the production group by setting up, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining preheat and temporary utility equipment including items such as strip heaters, temporary distribution panels, heater timer boxes, power supplies, stud guns, ventilation blowers and hoses as well as lighting cords and cables.
- Weld Support Technicians are also responsible for monitoring heat and recording and maintaining those readings in a log book
- Qualified candidates must be mechanically inclined and have a working knowledge of electricity and of working safely with it
Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1+ year of experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance or other directly related experience
- Must be available to work all shifts
- Candidates must possess basic mechanical knowledge to be able to effectively support mechanical repairs as needed
- Candidates must be willing to work overtime as needed
- Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools
- Must be able to pick up and carry 50LBS
Preferred:
- 3+ years with Electrical and Mechanical diagnostic and repair experience
- additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice Programs
- Familiarity with ATICTS, MRP II, SPARS is desired
- Journeyman electrical, pipefitting or plumbing
- Military/ Navy experience
- Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goals
- Candidates must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and with minimal supervision
- Candidates must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces and in extreme temperature conditions as required
