ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Plan work schedule to be performed during a given day or week, by several employees within their area of responsibility and ensure that work performed is in compliance with specifications.
- Lead the team with daily communication, safety awareness and compliance, as well as promoting cross training.
- Instruct and train team members in standard operating procedures (SOP's).
- Observe machinery operation to detect malfunctions and report problems to maintenance for repair.
- Promotes 5S compliance by ensuring that all work areas are clean, orderly and labeled.
- Document all employee reports and prepare all necessary paperwork including accident reports.
- Complete production reports as required. Record and Reduce scrap in area of responsibility.
- Provide feedback on team member performance/non-performance to Department/Area Supervisor
- Maintain production boards daily and be able to discuss plan vs. actual and gap items. Propose improvement activities to close gaps.
- Adheres to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer focused and supporting continuous improvement activities.
- Adheres to Safety policies and practices behavioral based safety 100% of the time.
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED plus 1-2 years of experience with production processes
- 2-3 Years of leadership experience, preferably in the production environment
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task
- Good understanding of lean manufacturing and team concepts
- Good problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Computer literate
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Job requires extensive standing, lifting, reaching, twisting, and turning to fabricate parts. Lifting will involve material weighing anywhere from several pounds to 50 pounds. PPE: Steel toed safety shoes, Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection is always required. Other PPE such as gloves, safety goggles, respirators, etc. may be required depending upon the task at hand.
