Production Team Lead - Country Archer

About the Job
Country Archer is looking for a dynamic Team Lead to identify, manage, and execute the plant's process improvement opportunities. Manages production staff to attain production safety and quality goals. Assists the Supervisor in identifying problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues. Ensures production resources including materials, equipment and staff are available as needed to maintain production schedules. Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service. Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team-oriented work force in order to improve business results.
Shift Schedule: 11:30 am to 8:00 pm & 2:30 pm to 11:00pm
Mondays- Fridays, Saturdays and overtime availability required as needed.
Primary Duties
• Monitor assigned production team to ensure that safety, quality, and productivity, are maintained.
• Provide/oversee employee training to ensure that employees are performing job responsibilities effectively.
• Assist Supervisor in evaluating subordinate performance, communication with employees, and providing feedback for work performance improvement.
• Participate in the support of plant and company safety programs, promoting and maintaining a high level of awareness and adherence to defined employee safety requirements such as lock-out/tag-out, personal protective equipment, etc.
• Ensure the quality of our finished products meet or exceed company specifications by regularly inspecting production output and working with QA department.
• Enforce all safety rules and regulations and coach employees on safe work habits.
• Maintain a high level of sanitation, GMPs and clean working environment at all times.
• Conduct regular inspection on assigned tasks and following safety, quality, production and company protocols.
• Assist the Supervisor to implement and enforce cost-saving measures, including measures to track and reduce product and material waste.
• Monitor and operate area production equipment as instructed, and as necessary, to maintain area operation.
• Learn the operation and adjustment, of all assigned production equipment.
• Identify and record any problems relating to food safety and the quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system or safety system.
• Promptly inform Supervisor and/or Management of any employee, food safety or quality issues or of any processes which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
• Consistently follow, observe and report all timekeeping for self and assigned staff in accordance with company policy.
• Ensure product identifiers are properly applied to all units in accordance with company guidelines, and that all material used in your assigned area are correct and in compliance with quality standards.
• Support production line change overs and effectively communicate with other shift personnel.
• Know emergency procedures in the event of an equipment failure or other emergencies.
• Maintain proper line crew staffing for designated line.
• Coordinate all lunch and break activities for assigned team members.
• Learn the abilities of all employees under direct supervision and utilize each employee to best meet the production schedule.
• Performs other job-related projects, duties and assignments as directed by leadership and management.
Knowledge/Competencies:
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and yield targets.
• Knowledge of GMP's.
• Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety.
• Ability to distinguish normal/abnormal circumstances.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Previous experience in a food-processing or manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Ability to work weekends and/or shift work with a strong work ethic and employment history.
• A self-motivated individual that can multi-task and lead others.
• Strong Competency with mathematic operations.
• Strong competency with computer and software mandatory, with ERP being preferable.
Skills/Experience:
• Food production experience.
• Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
• Able to fluently speak, write and read in English
• Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to motivate others to meet company and personal goals.
Pay range: $24.00 to $26.00
